Jake Paul fight script: What to know about alleged leaked ‘script’ for fight vs. Tommy Fury

Just like your parents used to tell you: Never believe everything you read on the internet.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is set to face off against Tommy Fury on Sunday, in a fight over a year in the making. While there were many twists along the way, the latest swerve hit internet less than a day before the bout.

On Saturday, mixed martial artist Mike Perry posted a tweet containing a picture of an alleged “script” for the fight, which includes a round-by-round rundown of what is going to happen, leading to a Jake Paul TKO:

MORE: How boxers feel about the Jake Paul-Tommy Fury showdown

While “scripts” have taken the sports world by storm in recent months — look no further than the meme-worthy “admission” by former NFL running back Arian Foster — there’s more than enough reason to doubt the legitimacy of the script heading into Sunday.

That starts with Skill Challenge, the promoter for the bout, vehemently denying that the script is legitimate, per the Daily Mail.

Here’s what you need to know about the “leaked” document:

Jake Faul fight script

The supposed leaked “script” features round-by-round details on the Feb. 26 Jake Paul-Tommy Fury fight. Here are some of the finer, more absurd scripted elements in the memo:

Round 2: Fury takes control of the fight, with the crowd getting “restless.”

Round 4: Fury’s eye starts to swell.

Round 5: Fury’s left eye swells shut and the doctor clears him to continue.

Round 8: Paul wins the fight by TKO after Fury’s eye can’t take any more damage.

MORE: Everything you need to know about Jake Paul’s boxing career

Obviously, using a bit of common sense, there’s more than a few reasons why this whole script seems more than a bit preposterous. Here they are:

— How, exactly, does one “script” a paying crowd to become restless? That is, unless, the crowd is in on the work, too.

— In Round 5, the supposed script dictates that Fury’s eye swells shut, which seems more than a bit ridiculous to try and predict (or plan).

— The entire script seems to be put together by “Troop Boxing Promotions,” which doesn’t seem to exist in any form or fashion. The “Troop Boxing Promotions” watermark on the page also seems to be oddly cropped, and less-than-professionally done.

— The Fury family — Tommy, John, Tyson — are currently not able to enter the United States, leaving the supposed Los Angeles “rematch” flagged at the bottom in great doubt.

— The fight time on the page seems to indicate the event starts at 5 p.m. ET, which is untrue. The event starts at 2 p.m. ET. Though, the fighters may make their ring walks around 4:30 p.m. ET for the main event.

In all, it’s a sort of fraudulence that matches a WWE match. (Coincidentally, Jake Paul’s brother Logan Paul wrestles there now.)

So, while this script certainly seems more fiction than fact, the world will find out exactly how phony come Sunday night.

Leaked Jake Paul-Tommy Fury Script Calling For 8th Rd TKO Is Fake, Sources Say

]

Jake Paul beats Tommy Fury by TKO in the 8th round?! That’s what a so-called leaked “script,” burning up social media, claims will happen Sunday afternoon … the only caveat is TMZ Sports is told it’s completely fake!

The one-page document is titled “Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Script - Revision #4 - Final” … and breaks down what will (supposedly) happen in each round of the highly anticipated fight.

For example, round 1 reads … “the fighters start off cautiously, circling each other and throwing jabs. Jake Paul lands a solid left hook, but Tommy Fury responds with a quick right hand.”

Fury will begin to have trouble with his eye in the 4th round, per the script. By the 5th, the document says Tommy’s eye will be so badly damaged it’s nearly closed.

Then, in the 8th … “Paul lands a huge right hand that sends Fury crashing to the canvas. Fury tries to get up, but he stumbles and falls back down. The referee starts the count, but Fury stays on the ground, clutching his eye.”

“The ringside doctor rushes in to check on Fury, but he waves him away. Tommy shall then act out an eye injury that forces the referee to call off the fight, declaring Jake Paul the winner by TKO.”

The problem … multiple people associated with the fight/fighters are adamant the “script” is completely fabricated, fake, nonsense.

There do appear to be multiple inconsistencies. The document was produced by “Troop Boxing”, which doesn’t seem to actually exist. Further, the word “Boxing” in Troop’s logo is a stock image available on the internet.

Also, Paul vs. Fury is a professional, sanctioned boxing match … and fixing fights is illegal. Prison time kinds of illegal.

It also begs the question … how would you fake an eye injury serious enough to cause a fight stoppage?

Nonetheless, the leaked script has many fans in a frenzy.

It feeds into the conspiracy theories that Jake’s fights are fixed … popular amongst boxing fans who refuse to give the 6-0 fighter any credit, despite beating the likes of future UFC Hall of Famers Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.

Jake and Tommy are scheduled to fight in a matter of hours … and it’s probably safe to say the fight won’t be stopped by the referee in the 8th over an eye injury (though, if it does, Drake won’t be mad).

‘Leaked script’ for Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury surfaces online and suggests the huge clash is RIGGED

]

A supposed ‘leaked script’ for the bout between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury has surfaced online just hours before the fight in Saudi Arabia.

The bitter rivals are finally set to go head-to-head in Diriyah on Sunday, with ringwalks set to begin at around 9.30PM UK time, after seeing previously scheduled bouts fall through on two occasions.

However, there are now claims being made that the bout has been rigged prior to the event occurring and the ‘leaked script’ suggests that former Love Island star Fury will lose the fight via TKO.

Skill Challenge, the promoters for Paul vs Fury, have confirmed to Sportsmail that the document is fake.

The document was originally shared by Mike Perry, who was the stand-in fighter to face Paul in the case that Fury pulled out of the bout.

Ahead of the bout, an alleged ‘script’ for the bout has done the rounds on social media

In it, it is claimed that ‘the fighters start off cautiously, circling each other and throwing jabs. Jake Paul lands a solid left hook, but Tommy Fury responds with a quick right hand.’

Fury will supposedly go on and take ‘control of the fight’ before later being bested by his American counterpart.

In round four, it claims Fury will have ‘trouble with his left eye’ which is ‘starting to swell’. The injury will supposedly cause ‘the ringside doctor to take a look’.

In the end, it is claimed that Paul will land ‘a huge right hand that sends Fury crashing to the canvas.

‘Fury tries to get up. but he stumbles and falls back down. The referee starts the count, but Fury stays on the ground, clutching his eye.

‘The ringside doctor rushes in to check on Fury, but he waves him away. Tommy shall then act out an eye injury that forces the referee to call off the fight, declaring Jake Paul the winner by TKO.’

The highly sceptical document raised eyebrows from online users and members of the boxing community, who retorted the idea that the fight was scripted.

Many fans were quick to note that Troop Boxing Promotions does not even exist, according to Google.

The ‘script’ claims Fury will suffer an eye injury before eventually losing the bout via TKO

Perry, who was the backup fighter for the bout in Diriyah, shared the post originally in what was likely a prank on the American personality.

Last month, the ex-UFC star shared an alleged contract offer to fight Paul before claiming that the Youtuber-turned-boxer ‘changed his mind’ over the contest.

Paul has previously come under skepticism that his bouts are staged, after achieving a number of impressive knock-outs, but there’s no conclusive evidence to support it and is more than likely just speculation.

His most recent outing in the ring saw him claim a unanimous decision victory over UFC legend Anderson Silva, where the Brazilian was dealt a knockdown by the American.

Tommy Fury defeated Jake Paul by split-decision in Saudi Arabia to settle the pair’s two-year long feud.

Paul and Fury had previously made two attempts to fight each other, with two bouts called off on short notice when Fury was injured and had visa issues. But third time was a charm as the pair finally stepped into the ring, earning millions in the process.

And a slew of celebrities made the trip to the Middle East for the grudge bout, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin Hart and Mike Tyson all taking in the bout from plush ringside seats.

The ‘Problem Child’ let his rival sweat as he delayed his main event ring walk, eventually stepping into the ring and dancing opposite Fury the second he entered. He had declared that the long-awaited grudge fight was no more than “another spar”, but the pair sprung out of the traps early, forcing the referee to separate them.

Paul made it scrappy early, smothering Fury and getting in close in the opening exchanges. But despite struggling with the Brit’s jab the biggest shot of the first was an overhand right from the American that his opponent rode well, with Fury likely winning the first of eight rounds.

And that jab was a real problem for Paul, who struggled to get around Fury’s impressive reach and likely dropped another round in the second. However, he got more aggressive in the third and began to take control of the fight, landing at will in particular with a big left with about 30 seconds to go.

As the fourth began, Jake’s brother Logan took to the arena microphone to announce that the Brit was “a b****”. However, it appeared to do little but push Fury towards an aggressive round where he landed some big shots on his rival. The fifth saw them both land big, but a point was deducted for illegal shots.

Paul landed the better shots and arguably had the better of the round, but losing a point will have cost him a potentially game-changing round. However, it was instantly reversed when Fury had a point deducted as well to even up the controversy of the last round - although both were dubious.

Likely knowing he was behind from the open scoring used in the fight, Paul flew out early in the seventh and landed a couple of heavy shots that let Fury know he was still in a fight at the farthest point he has been in his career. Fury returned fire in a major way as the round progressed, with both wearing the seven rounds.

Fury showed off a small cut heading into the eighth after a clash of heads, but the crowd appeared to believe he had done enough. However, early in the eighth, Fury was down from a jab that he walked into. He persisted in an effort to sneak the victory, with the crowd on his side as they made it to the final bell with two of the three judges giving Fury the nod.

Paul said: “All respect to Tommy, he won, and don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses. I’ll come back. I think we deserve that rematch. It was a great fight, a close fight. I don’t know if I agree with the judges. I got a 10-8 round twice, so it is what it is. This is boxing.

“Look, I’ve already won in life man, I’ve already won in every single way. I have an amazing family, amazing friends, amazing work ethic and I’ve made further than I ever thought that I would and beyond. This is definitely a humbling experience. I’ll take it on the chin, get back in the gym and we can run it back because I think we put on an amazing show for the fans tonight.”

Fury added: “For the past two and a half years this is all that has consumed my life. Everyone thought I was running scared but I made my own legacy. All the way through I had a vision I would win this fight and no-one would believe me. I had the pressure of the world on my shoulders but I came through. This was my world title fight, this was my destiny and my fate.”

In the co-main event, Swede Badou Jack won the WBC cruiserweight title from Ilunga Makabu, stopping the two-time title holder in the twelfth. He is now a three-weight champion having previously held world honours at super-middleweight and light-heavyweight.

Now based in the Dubai and having settled into fighting in Saudi Arabia, Jack became the first Muslim fighter to win a world title on Middle Eastern soil. And he wasn’t the only history-maker on the night; in the prelims Ragad Al-Naimi became the first female Saudi Arabian professional boxer, starting her career with a third-round stoppage of Perpetual Okaidah.

Jake Paul demands Molly-Mae pays him for giving her baby “more clout”

]

Jake Paul has been criticised online for leaking news that Molly-Mae had given birth to her and Tommy Fury’s baby before the couple could announce it themselves

Jake Paul thinks Molly-Mae Hague should “pay him” for giving her and Tommy Fury’s newborn baby daughter “more clout”..

Whilst confirming his fight with bitter rival Tommy Fury for February 26th in Saudi Arabia, Paul leaked the news that Hague’s baby had been born before the couple was able to make the announcement themselves. Whilst hosting a fan Q&A on Instagram, one user asked Paul: “Do you think you should apologise for mentioning Molly Mae’s birth announcement” to which he replied: “No she should pay me for giving that baby more clout.”

Paul also gave a sarcastic response when speaking with the press in London just days after leaking the news, as he jokingly responded to a question about the baby from a reporter: “Did I do that? I leaked it? Oh s***. My bad. I’m sorry Tommy, but don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone the gender or anything like that.” It’s since been announced by Hague that she gave birth to a girl, who her and Fury have named Bambi.

Fury and Hague met four years ago on the reality TV series Love Island and have been together ever since. Hague admitted that Fury’s boxing career has disrupted their time together during her pregnancy, telling iFL TV : “Me and Tommy communicate through FaceTime at this point. I think because he’s been away so much he sometimes forget, he has to be reminded a bit because he’s just away in camp land.”

There is a lot of pressure on Fury’s shoulders heading into his grudge fight against Paul as his brother, heavyweight champion Tyson, has vowed to leave him Saudi Arabia if he loses. Fury will be the first ‘actual boxer’ Paul has fought during his professional career having previously faced MMA fighters, content creators and athletes from other sports up until now.

Fury, who is unbeaten in eight professional fights, was supposed to fight Paul Bamba on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs Deji last November but had a last-minute opponent change as he faced Rolly Lambert in a short-notice exhibition fight that was un-scored. The 23-year-old’s last professional win came on the undercard of Tyson’s knockout win against Dillian Whyte last April.

The Brit has promised to hand Paul his first defeat in the ring and end his boxing career for good when they finally meet after two previous cancellations, telling his rival: “I was beating better people than you when I was 14 in the amateurs, whilst you were messing around on Disney channel so don’t come here pretending you’re about it when you’re not. I am not an MMA fighter, I will school you.”
