Xiaomi Mi 10 series to launch today: Expected price, specifications, India launch and everything else

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) for 2020 has been called off due to the Coronavirus outbreak but phone launches are still happening in other parts of the world. Especially in China, which has been hit the worst, Xiaomi is going ahead with the launch of its Mi 10 flagship. The phone will be launched today but for the first time, the company will host an online launch that can be attended via livestream only. Xiaomi is going to launch the Mi 10 series flagships at today’s event.

The Mi 10 series will be unveiled for the China market today and it is supposed to be the most feature-rich Android phone Xiaomi has ever made. With so many leaks and teaser out, the Mi 10 already looks promising and the best part is that it might come to India soon. The launch will be broadcasted via Xiaomi’s Weibo account and you can watch it from here. The livestream will begin at 11:30 am IST.

Even though the launch is yet to happen, Xiaomi has teased out quite a few features of the Mi 10. Moreover, the leaks have themselves revealed almost everything about the phones, including the prices too. There will be a Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro this year, with the prices expected to start at CNY 4,200 (approximately Rs 43,000). Yes, it will expensive compared to the Xiaomi Mi 9 from last year but there are some notable upgrades to watch out for.

First of all, the Xiaomi Mi 10 will support 5G out of the box - thanks to the Snapdragon 865 chipset. That also means the phone will be high on performance and to help with its cause, Xiaomi will use a faster LPDDR5X RAM as well as UFS 3.0 storage. To make the experience even better, Xiaomi is going to use a 90Hz refresh rate display with a JNCD rating higher than what the iPhone 11 Pro Max gained last year.

Xiaomi focuses on the camera quality with the Mi series flagships and as far as the rumours suggest, the Mi 10 is coming with a 108-megapixel camera from Samsung that might be high on imaging performance. Xiaomi says the Mi 10 will surprise everyone with its DxOMark score.

The Mi 10 was slated to launch globally at the MWC 2020 but with the event cancelled now, it remains to be seen how Xiaomi goes about the global launch of the Mi 10 series. For its India launch, Xiaomi might bring it around the same time as the launch of the OnePlus 8 series phones, i.e. by early-April.
