A Christmas lover has gone viral on social media after her daughter shared a video of their ginormous collection of decorations and the hard work she puts in making her house look like a festive wonderland

When it comes to Christmas, there are those who simply put up a tree, turn on the lights and call it a day and then there are those who go all out for the festive season, turning their homes into Santa’s Grotto or a winter wonderland.

A mum who falls into the latter category has recently gone viral online after her daughter showed off her epic Christmas decorating skills.

Maddison Gordon (@madsgordo) took to TikTok to share a clip of her mum, Lorraine, getting out all of their festive decorations and prepping the house for the holidays.

She’s since shared a number of other videos of her “Xmas obsessed mum” decorating the house over several days, to show off all her hard work.

The first clip showed Lorraine bringing in dozens of boxes filled to the brim with baubles, garlands and more.

She showed different parts of the house where their three Christmas trees would be located, before cutting to show a huge pile of all the decorations on the living room floor.

The pile consists of 20 large stacker boxes, three big Christmas tree boxes and 14 smaller boxes containing festive odds and ends.

Captions on the video read: “Day 1 of my Xmas obsessed mum decorating our house for the festive season.

“Just you wait and watch this space will be filled with boxes.

“Space cleared for tree number one out of three.

“She love it, gets her steps in for the day. She’s spent years collecting these decs and that’s not even all of it.”

In a post on day two, Lorraine’s haul of decoration boxes has grown substantially and she begins wrapping festive foliage around beams and bannisters, completely unafraid of heights.

“She starts off with the greenery as the base,” writes Maddison.

The footage shows how the greenery has been dotted all over the house, on top of cupboards and on a piano.

Then it cuts to show the mum painting a fresh layer of chalk paint on the wall behind the stove, where she plans to design a Christmas mural.

“We’re barely getting started,” her daughter adds.

Millions of people have since watched the clips and Lorraine has been branded a Chrismas ‘icon’.

One person replied: “Your mum is an icon.”

“I aspire to be this kind of mum,” wrote someone else.

Another posted: “Absolute goals.”

A fourth said: “What a woman!!!!”

“Living for this,” proclaimed a different user.

While a sixth asked: “Will your mum adopt me please?”

Maddison liked a bunch of the responses, sharing how her mum loves Christmas and that she used to dress the windows in Harrods so has had plenty of experience creating festive displays.

She added: “Just until you wait until they’re all up… JESUS CHRIST.”

We can’t wait to see the end results!
